WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF HYPNOSIS AND
THE LifeChange HYPNOSIS PROGRAM?
So, what are the risks associated with Hypnosis and with the Hypnosis-Workbook Programs offered by The Hypnosis Dr., Dr. Marlene Shiple? In answer, I will separate this discussion into two parts: a) the risks of Hypnosis; and b) the risks of the Personalized Hypnosis-Workbook Program for LifeChange.
While there are some risks involved in the use of Hypnosis, in some contexts, these have been greatly exaggerated. Milton Erickson, M.D. — psychiatrist and leading authority on Hypnosis — stated that Hypnosis itself has never been harmful in any way to a subject. However, just as can drugs or any other treatment, it can be misused. According to Dr. Erickson, it is the misuse, not Hypnosis itself, which could be harmful.
SO HOW WOULD ONE MISUSE HYPNOSIS …
AND HOW CAN THIS BE PREVENTED?
* Potential Risk #1: Any normally intelligent human being can be Hypnotized. Caution needs to be taken in using Hypnosis with those individuals who are incapacitatingly anxious or depressed or are deeply emotionally troubled. Anyone who is greatly disturbed, greatly depressed, on the verge of a “nervous breakdown” or in danger of becoming insane would not ordinarily be Hypnotized. However, after careful consideration in a professional therapy setting, Hypnosis might well be the treatment of choice for such persons.
All visitors to this website are asked to recognize that no webpage, no Hypnosis tape Program and no instructional booklets can be substituted for proper, constructive psychotherapy and/or medical care.
INHERENT PROTECTION FROM DEPENDENCY
* Potential Risk #2: Another area of awareness is not to have the subject become too dependent on the Hypnotherapist. As you are probably aware, this dependency can be a drawback in any form of physician-patient relationship. If dependence were to occur, it would most likely occur early in the process of therapy.
However, as you, the patient, progresses, dependency diminishes. Indeed, as you progress in treatment, any need for dependency diminishes. In therapy, you receive guidance in building your own independence, in strengthening your self-esteem. Hence, any desire for, or need of, depending on the therapist lessens. With the successful conclusion of the Hypnosis, dependency no longer persists.
In general, there is very little real danger in Hypnosis. As is reflected in the following comment by David Cheek, M.D., “We can do more harm with ignorance of Hypnosis than we can by intelligently using the forces of suggestion.”
LifeChange PROGRAM: THERE’S NO
GOING BACK … ONLY FORWARD
* Potential Risk #3: And now we get to a serious disadvantage of both Hypnosis and of the Personalized LifeChange Program. YOU GET BETTER. No, I am not kidding. Getting better can create a dilemma: You move forward in making a change … then realize that things are NOT the way they used to be.
Let’s say, you experienced success: You have improved your mind control, increased motivation, are managing pain, lost weight, eliminated the eating disorder, stopped smoking, reduced anxiety, relieved depression, are managing stress, or have enhanced your physical, sexual or mental health. Whatever you wanted to do — Using the respective Personalized LifeChange Program, you have accomplished it!
You are there … AND you cannot go back. Once you have seen a new way to conduct your life, you can no longer be ignorant about changing. You have lost your virgin status in this regard. You have the KNOWLEDGE that your LifeSituation can be better. And, by using the Personalized Hypnosis Program for LifeChange, you even know HOW to make it better.
If you choose to back off and “settle” for less … Well, you simply will not be able to do this. This is not to say that you cannot take your time, that you cannot put your progress “on hold” for awhile. Of course, you can!
It is just that, all the while you are “on hold,” you will have the knowledge that things can be better. You will have the information for making it better. You will have reached a whole new level of wisdom.
And, with this whole new level of wisdom, you will not be able to go back … to a time when you did not know.
So, I suggest that you could just move forward …? You could just USE the new knowledge you have gained — Take a Risk! — and get down to the work of making that successful change! What a GREAT IDEA!
CREATING CHANGE REQUIRES AN INVESTMENT
* Potential Risk #4: You cannot get down to the work of making successful change without making an investment. That’s right: You will have to, as the old saying so aptly states, “put your money (and time and energy) where your mouth is.” You will have to invest some of you in creating happiness in your life!
Are you willing to invest in you? Are the changes you want to experience in your life worth this investment?
I hope you are ready to answer a resounding “YES!” You ARE worth it! Having what you want in your life is terribly — wonderfully — worth it.
So, this disadvantage is simply that it will cost you time and money.
On the flip side, this cost will be returned to you with massive dividends:
- Are you willing to experience — right-this-minute — more of the way you WANT your life to be?
- Do you wish to continue to enjoy this right into every future minute?
You can! By whole-heartedly using the specific Personalized Program for LifeChange that fits your desired area-of-change, all of this can be yours! This is an incredible Return on Investment The stock market cannot even begin to match it!
OK, now you know the risks … What do YOU want to change? Or, stated a different way, which of these Personalized Programs for LifeChange is THE ONE for you?
